Gender equality
Policies, initiatives, and servicesFor the University of Verona, gender equality is not only a principle, but a structural and strategic lever for change, aimed at building an academic environment free from stereotypes and truly promoting gender equality. It is a cross-cutting commitment that integrates policies, processes, and organizational culture, promoting work-life balance, equal access to decision-making roles, the integration of a gender perspective in teaching and research, and the active prevention of all forms of discrimination and violence.
Coordination
To ensure coordination and effectiveness of gender policies, the University of Verona has established the Coordination Table for the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) and the Gender Budget, a forum for discussion that involves the various components of the academic community and the University’s main strategic areas.
The composition of the working group, coordinated by the Delegate for Organizational Well-being, ensures broad and cross-cutting representation of the realities that make up the university community, fostering participation and shared decision-making. It also integrates into a single body the work on the Gender Equality Plan and the Gender Budget, linking action planning with outcome evaluation.
In order to facilitate the implementation of the policies and actions foreseen by the GEP, a Steering Committee of the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) has been established, performing an operational and monitoring function.
