Generative welfare

Transforming assistance into social value

Menu sticky - Benessere

The Generative Welfare policies of the University of Verona represent an evolution of the traditional assistance model, integrating it with a more active and participatory vision of well-being, in which every member of the community is considered a resource.

This policy enhances the plural identity of individuals, which goes beyond the simple professional or academic role, strengthening the sense of belonging. Generative Welfare complements institutional services, contributing to creating lasting relational value for the entire University.

The foundational and defining elements:

  • From Assistance to Generation: The goal is not only to respond to a need, but to transform social investment into social value.
  • The Individual as a Carrier of Resources: the person is no longer a "passive beneficiary", but an active partner capable of deploying their own skills and potential, generating a virtuous cycle of reciprocity
  • Social Capital as Infrastructure: Trust and meaningful relationships are considered the essential foundation for the well-being of the entire community.

The "Open Call"

The University of Verona has translated these concepts into a concrete policy: an ongoing Generative Welfare call for proposals in which to suggest activities linked to skills, interests and personal practices.

Objective and Vision:

The initiative aims to enhance informal resources already present within the University by transforming community members from "passive recipients" into active co-producers of well-being.
