Collaborations with enterprises and other entities

The University of Verona forsters the collaboration with the labour market with the aim of providing companies and institutions with highly skilled workers.

This goal can be declined in signing collaboration agreements with companies and entities interested in participating in the scientific training of doctoral students in a given field, in the financing of PhD scholarships, in the creation of a Doctorate path with an Industrial characterization within which one or more positions are reserved to employees or of High Research Training Apprenticeship contracts.

Starting a scientific collaboration

The University enters into agreements with research institutions and companies that carry out research and development activities and possess high cultural and scientific qualification requirements and resources in terms of personnel, facilities and equipment. Through such agreements, the institution concerned formalizes its commitment and willingness to the use of its structural endowments and advanced instrumentation by doctoral students enrolled in a specific Ph.D. course, by hosting them for internship periods aimed at training, research and mentoring in a work context.

Industrial characterization

The industrially-qualified Ph.D. is governed by Article 10 of Ministerial Decree 226/2021 and provides a new way of collaboration between universities and the labour market that aims to provide companies with a response to their needs for highly skilled workers.

University-enterprise collaboration promotes a joint training and research pathway and access to the skills and abilities of highly qualified teaching staff, ideal for the training of new professional profiles.

This type of Ph.D. path includes a collaboration agreement with at least one company and the design of a joint doctoral pathway, provides for the funding of doctoral scholarships, the activation of reserved places for company employees and the activation of high-level apprenticeship contracts for doctoral training.
