Research and Innovation

The Research and Innovation Directorate supports and promotes the development of research at the University, overseeing in an integrated manner the processes of accessing funding, planning, managing and commercialising research outcomes, and providing professional, administrative and organisational support to departments, as well as strengthening PhD programmes as a strategic element for the continuity and development of scientific expertise.

It acts as an active interface with the business sector, identifying the needs of companies and capitalising on research outcomes by promoting technology transfer, partnerships and innovation initiatives.

It contributes to the University’s competitiveness by supporting the attraction of resources, the integration of research and innovation, and the generation of scientific, economic and social impact.
