Alain Polguère
is Professor in linguistics at the Université de Lorraine (Nancy, France) and member of the ATILFCNRS laboratory of Nancy where he heads the Lexicon team. In this context, he pilots a research on lexical networks called Lexical Systems which are new computational models of natural language lexicons based on theoretical and descriptive principles of Explanatory and Combinatorial Lexicology. He is a senior member of the IUF (Institut Universitaire de France) and is the codirector of the scientific journal Cahiers de lexicologie. Coauthor of Introduction à la lexicologie explicative et combinatoire (with I. Mel’čuk and A. Clas, 1995), of the fourth volume of the Dictionnaire Explicatif et Combinatoire du Français Contemporain (1999), of Lexique actif du français (with I. Mel’čuk, 2007), Alain Polguère is the author of numerous articles and of the book Lexicologie et sémantique lexicale. Notions fondamentales (first edition in 2003; second edition in 2008; third edition in 2016) which obtained the Minister’s price in the Competition for the Minister of Education’s Awards 2003-2004 (Québec, Canada), with a Special mention for the quality of the language.
