Self-declarations (Substitute Declarations):

"This certificate cannot be produced to public administration bodies or private public service providers."
For these purposes, an autocertification (self-declaration) must be presented (art. 46-47, D.P.R. 445/2000), which has the same legal value as a certificate and is free (no stamp duty).
Penalties:
Anyone issuing false self-declarations risks:
- Criminal penalties (art. 76)
- Loss of benefits obtained (art. 75)
Self-declarations are available pre-filled with university data on Esse3.
Consult the "Guide to Self-declarations on Esse3" (in Italian)
Remember: a self-declaration is a personal act; the signer assumes responsibility.
