Student Elective Activities (Category D)
ServiziStudent elective activities (known as Category D activities) are reserved for students enrolled in the fourth and fifth years of the Pharmacy Degree Programme. These activities are designed to explore topics of particular relevance to the pharmacy profession and to enhance further the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the degree programme.
Through these activities, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of pharmacy management, logistics, pharmaceutical marketing, and pharmacoeconomics, acquiring valuable tools for working in professional environments characterised by complex organisational processes. In addition, they will deepen their knowledge of the development and promotion of natural products and pharmaceutical preparations, with particular emphasis on applications in phytotherapy.
The programme will also provide students with the opportunity to gain foundational knowledge in toxicological chemical analysis, forensic toxicology, occupational medicine, and legal medicine, with particular attention to product safety, health protection, and the professional responsibilities of pharmacists.
Special emphasis will be placed on technological innovation in healthcare, the use of digital tools to support pharmacotherapy, health promotion and disease prevention activities, and risk management and prophylactic strategies, including those related to vaccination.
Finally, these activities will enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the pharmacist’s role within hospital settings and healthcare networks, fostering competencies in medication management and interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
