Library building access,opening hours and useful information for University users - Coronavirus emergency

Consultation rooms and study spaces at the University’s libraries are now open to University users only, who can access them up to the number of users allowed by social distancing measures.
Please note: users must always wear protective masks and sanitise their hands using the hydroalcoholic gel available at the entrance.

Opening Hours:

Frinzi Library e Meneghetti Library 
Study spaces: Monday to Sunday, 8.30 am - 11.30 pm;
Library services: Monday to Friday: 8.30 am - 7.30 pm; Saturday: 8.30 am - 12.30 noon.

Santa Marta Library
Study spaces: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 7.30 pm;
Library services: Monday to Friday: 9 am - 3 pm.

Access to study spaces at Frinzi, Meneghetti and Santa Marta libraries is only allowed to University of Verona teaching staff, students, technical-administrative staff, students working on their thesis/dissertation, PhD students, and scholarship and research grant holders, upon reservation via the Affluences app.

Members of staff of the University Hospital of Verona (Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona) may book a place at Meneghetti Library by writing to:

Departmental libraries
Departmental libraries (specialist libraries) are open to teaching staff, students, technical-administrative staff, staff of the University Hospital of Verona (Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona), students working on their thesis/dissertation, PhD students, scholarship and research grant holders who have their authorisation form signed by their Research or Dissertation/Thesis Supervisor (go to form).
Please book an appointment by email with your supervisor.
Access is only intended for consultation of sources not otherwise available.

Departmental libraries are open from Monday to Thursday, 9 am - 3 pm, and on Fridays 9 am - 1 pm, except the following libraries:
• Library of the Economics Campus in Vicenza, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 12.30 noon / 2 pm - 5 pm.
• Libraries of Biotechnologies, Computer Science, and Psychiatry: please contact Meneghetti Library.

Borrowing books
Users will be able to access the library’s premises only after having reserved the book online by clicking here on Universe. Please wait for confirmation, after which you will need to arrange a day and time for collection during the opening hours specified above. Book items that are part of a syllabus of a degree programme and books marked as ‘consultation’ on Universe can be borrowed for 48 hours only (not including encyclopedias, dictionaries, journals, etc.).

You can have books borrowed from the University Library System delivered to your home (with the exception of titles that are part of a module programme and books that can be borrowed for 7 days) if you are in one of the following circumstances:  
- a person with reduced mobility; 
- a person subject to a Covid-19 quarantine; 
- a person living in the 'Red' or 'Orange' areas.

Returning books  This can only be done by using the self-service boxes outside, when library premises are open.
Please note: the self-service box at the Meneghetti Library has been moved to the atrium of the Biological Institutes (Istituti Biologici).

Giralibro: by logging into Universe and clicking on ‘Prenota il ritiro dei libri in biblioteca’, university users can order a book online that is part of the collection of the University’s libraries, and collect it at a library of their choice.

Inter-library loans service
Inter-library loans service allows users to request articles, book sections and books from other national and international libraries, subject to availability from the external libraries in question.

Photocopying and printing
Photocopiers and printers can be used in the libraries, provided a place at the library has been booked in advance via the Affluences app.
