The University of Verona’s Strategic Plan 2026–2028 defines the guidelines for the University’s development in the coming years, with the aim of strengthening its role as a driver of cultural, social, and economic growth at the local, national, and international levels.
At the heart of the Plan lies a clear vision:
to attract, educate, and retain people of value by promoting high-quality research, innovative teaching, and strong integration with the territory, within an increasingly international and digital context.
Mission
The University of Verona’s mission is to produce, share, and enhance knowledge through high-quality teaching, advanced research, and a constant commitment to society. In particular, the University works to:

educate competent and responsible students who are able to address contemporary cultural, social, and professional challenges;
- promote innovative and open research, enhancing internal expertise and fostering national and international collaborations;
- transfer knowledge and skills to the territory, contributing to the cultural, social, and economic development of the communities it serves;
- ensure participation, well-being, and inclusion through fair and transparent decision-making processes;
- optimize organization and services, valuing the time and skills of the university community;
- support digital transformation by promoting the responsible and informed use of artificial intelligence.
Vision
The University of Verona aspires to be an international and sustainable institution, recognized for its innovative identity and its contribution to territorial development. In this perspective, the University aims to:

A Growing University
The University of Verona is a young and rapidly expanding institution:

over 28,000 students;
- 13 departments, 6 of which are recognized as excellence departments;
- more than 100 degree programs, including programs taught in English;
- 840 faculty members and researchers and 819 technical and administrative staff;
- high-level scientific output and a growing ability to attract competitive national and European funding.
A participatory and future-oriented Plan
The Strategic Plan stems from a participatory process based on evaluative analyses, dialogue with the academic community, and alignment with national and European policies.
