This programme is offered as a joint Masters between the University of Udine, the University of Padova and the University of Verona. These three universities located in the Triveneto area are top teaching and research institutions in the wine sector, at both national and international level.

All administration is undertaken at the University of Udine. First year courses take place at the University of Padova’s site in Conegliano Veneto (TV). Second year courses take place either at the University of Udine’s wine and oenology teaching and research centre in Cormons (GO) or at the University of Verona. Students can do the preparation for their final exam at one of the three partner universities or at any foreign institution where there is an agreement in place (e.g. Ecole Nationale Supérieure Agronomique in Montpellier, France; University of Applied Sciences in Geisenheim, Germany or Fachhochschule in Wiesbaden, Germany). Thanks to a number of Erasmus agreements with different European universities, students also have the opportunity to take courses in other significant wine-producing nations.

The programme curriculum is made up of several types of study modules:
a) Core modules aim to provide advanced knowledge and skills relating to vineyard agro-ecosystems, vine genetics and physiology, protection of vines, technology for processing grapes and their derivatives, quality control of wine products, and marketing and management in the wine sector. Particular attention is given to analysing and overcoming critical points in the supply chain at business level and local level.
b) Similar or related modules include content related to the core modules and are intended to complement the main programme of study, for example: experimental methodology, improving English language skills or learning a second international language. Within the scope of this area, students can choose which specific modules to take according to their own interests and professional background.
c) Optional modules where students can freely choose their own topics (pursuant to Article 10 of Ministerial Decree 270/04).
d) Modules relevant to the student's final exam topic, which they shall discuss in front of a Committee of teachers.
